Bicycle Rear Reflector
Which reflectors on a bicycle are of any use?
I imagine that the only ones that are particularly effective are the rear reflectors and pedal reflectors. I can’t see the point in front reflectors or those fitted to the wheel spokes.
Which ones do you notice while driving?
Ive always found the pedal reflectors and wheel reflectors the most noticeable. These both produce a strobing effect and you really have to be trying to miss them. The rear reflector is the only other one I have ever recalled ever seeing while driving. I never recall ever noticing a front reflector. I imagine this is because a bike riding towards me is not within the beams of my headlights. I drive 100,000 miles plus a year for my work and these have been my observations from the seat of a semi truck.
